Your business's online presence is a key element looking forward into the future
Evolution in the last few years shows what are the trends that are going to impact the XXI century. You don't have to be Einstein to guess that this trend is related with technology and the digital world.
If we traveled to the past, like 15 years ago, few people would imagine that the vast majority of people would have a profile in the social networks or that almost all businesses would have a website.
Mostly because 15 years ago facebook didn't exist and smartphones weren't common yet so people could connect to the internet from anywhere.
Back in the day it wasn't necessary to have an online presence. However, nowadays if your business is not on the internet you are 'no one'.
Young millennials and future generations function through the internet.
If they want to know about your business or service before buying, they are going to check out your website and see if you are convincing.
If you are not convincing then they will probably end up buying from your competitors.
Having an updated and modern digital image is a challenge. To achieve it you have to renew your website, services, and contents every now and then.
The issue is that the website you payed so much money and dedicated so much time to create the contents some years ago is probably obsolete. It isn't just because how websites evolve and their trends, but also because your business is not the same as 5 years ago.
Your business and work change throughout time. If you dont update all those changes, clients may think that you have not changed. That you are stuck in the same place you have been for sometime offering the same stuff without any improvements.
If you want to keep a fresh and renew digital image then it is important to take care of your online presence.
My name is Jorge Alonso Monzón and I am from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
I studied Philosophy and a minor in Computer Science in Boston , USA.
Then I came back to Gran Canaria to get trained and work as a professional coach for 2 years.
In the meantime I was always kept interest in the digital world, and that inspired me to create my website and to work on my personal brand.
Ever since I start with online marketing I learned an important lesson.
There is a gap between the new working force and the people who have more experience. Nothing new here.
Some generations have been raised with a computer since they were little, and others had to adapt to the digital world as market´s necessities shifted.
Therefore, I feel that those who like to work on digital marketing can contribute to the digital transformation of businesses.
My mission is to share what I have learned about digital presence in a simple and transparent way. To give you ideas that help you improve your online presence away from the fake digital marketing "experts".
- Share ideas. Sharing is caring and everyday there's something new to learn. Creating value for others by sharing knowledge is a wonderful idea. I learn from you and you may learn from me!
- Simplicity and transparency. There are some 'tricks' that benefit those who sell products on the internet. One of them is to keep the reader engaged reading empty content that doesn't bring anything new to the table and that is repeated with different words. For me that is not transparent because it takes advantage over people. My goal is to create valuable content in a simple way.
- Away from the fake. In the internet world a lot of people are only looking for their personal benefit, and they would do anything to get your money. I have also been a victim of those valueless products. So one of my values is to share truthful information even though it does not mean that I won't make any mistakes.
